Description

The most vivid in the series — and nothing else comes close.

Parrot 6 is the most chromatically intense piece in the entire La Bottega di Casa naturalistic series. An Australian lorikeet — a parrot of warm climates with blazing red-orange plumage that fades to yellow on the belly, wings with emerald green and black reflections, amber gold eye, orange beak. Around him, white eucalyptus flowers with thread-fine stamens, bright green leaves, still-closed buds — an Australian botanical composition where everything radiates light.

On natural white linen, this warm palette — red, orange, yellow, green — has the presence of a painting. This is not a discreet accessory: it is a precise choice. Those who hang Pappagallo 6 in their kitchen want colour, want life, want the kitchen to be a space with its own character.

The Fabric

Linen — why it is the right fabric for a tea towel Linen is not just the most beautiful fabric for a tea towel. It is the most suitable one, for concrete reasons.

It absorbs up to 20% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet — it dries glasses and dishes without leaving streaks or lint, something cotton or microfibre fabrics cannot match. It dries quickly, reducing residual moisture and odour. It is naturally antibacterial — linen fibres contain lignin, which inhibits bacterial growth even after repeated washing.

And it improves over time. Every wash softens the fibres without weakening them — after ten washes a linen tea towel is softer, more absorbent and more beautiful than when it was new. Cotton does the opposite: it stiffens, pills, loses colour.

The linen we use for our tea towels is selected from the finest European mills — 100% pure, with no synthetic treatments.

How to Use It

Pappagallo 6 is the statement piece of the series — the one you notice first, the one that transforms a neutral kitchen into a space with personality. Hung alone it is already a declaration. In a composition with Parrots 1, 2 or 4, it creates immediate chromatic contrast: the cool palettes of the greys and greens make the fire of the red-orange burn even brighter.

As a gift: it is the most immediate and joyful piece in the series — perfect for those who love colour without compromise.

The Design

Lorikeets are parrots of the tropical forests of Australia, New Guinea and Polynesia — among the most colourful birds in the world, with plumage that seems hand-painted. European naturalists discovered them during the great expeditions of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in the Pacific, and their illustrated plates immediately became celebrated for the unprecedented chromatic beauty of the subjects.

The eucalyptus flowers framing the parrot in this design are the emblematic plant of Australia — large white flowers with hundreds of fine stamens that create an almost ethereal texture, surrounded by dense bright green leaves. The composition unites the most exotic subject in the series with the most precise botanical context — pure
