The placemat belongs to the Magnolia Rosa line, the most complete in our botanical collection: the tablecloth (Magnolia Allover), napkins, table runner, and tea towel all share the same watercolour. The placemat is the ideal entry point into the family — and together with the other pieces it allows you to build the complete coordination, from the kitchen to the holiday table, one element at a time.

Simplicity rewards: white or ivory ceramic plates, neutral stoneware, transparent crystal. Natural linen napkins or napkins in soft dusty pink complete the place setting without competing with the design. For a more contemporary touch, gold cutlery — as in the modern kitchen photograph — picks up the warm tones of the pink.

On a wood table — raw, rustic, or dark — the placemat is complete as it is. Over a solid-colour linen tablecloth — natural white, écru, or grey — it becomes a botanical island on a neutral ground.

Why is every placemat different from the next? The placemat is cut from the allover fabric of the Magnolia tablecloth, which has a continuous design with no fixed repeat module. The cut point determines which flowers appear and in which position: two placemats cut at different points in the fabric will have different compositions. No two pieces are perfectly alike.

If I order six, will they all be different? Yes — coordinated in palette, design, and style, but each with its own composition. On the table, the effect is that of a flowering tree: the same flowers, never the same branch. It is a distinctive feature of the product.

Does it coordinate with the other pieces of the Magnolia Rosa line? Yes — the line is the most complete in our collection: tablecloth, napkins, runner, and tea towel all share the same watercolour. The placemat coordinates with all of them — and over a solid-colour tablecloth, Magnolia placemats and napkins compose a coordinated table without needing the printed tablecloth itself.

What table setting works best? Simplicity: white or ivory ceramics, neutral stoneware, transparent crystal. The large-scale design is the protagonist of the place setting — everything else should accompany it. As the photographs show, it works in shabby, modern, and country kitchens with the same naturalness.

Does the print fade with washing? Digital print on linen is designed to withstand repeated machine washes at 40°C (104°F). Over time the colour acquires a subtle patina consistent with the watercolour aesthetic. Do not bleach.
