The Fauna Crema Table Runner is made from reversible 100% pure linen damask, woven in Umbria by Tessitura Pardi according to Italy’s traditional textile craftsmanship.
The butterfly motif is not printed: it is created directly by the interlacing of the threads. The two faces offer different interpretations of the same design. One side features cream butterflies against a natural linen ground, while the reverse exchanges the relationship between the background and the motif.
When ordering, you can select which side you would like presented as the main face. The runner remains fully reversible and can be turned over whenever you wish to change the look of your table.
Every runner is cut from a continuous-pattern fabric, so the placement of the butterflies varies naturally and makes each piece unique. Available in standard and custom sizes.

Butterflies Created by the Weave
The Fauna motif is not printed or applied to the surface. Its butterflies are created directly on the loom through the changing interlacement of the linen threads.
The damask weave allows different areas of the fabric to reflect the light in contrasting ways, bringing either the background or the butterfly design into greater prominence. This play of light is what reveals the two visual interpretations of the fabric.
Because the motif is part of the textile’s structure, it will not disappear with washing. Over time, pure linen develops a progressively softer hand while retaining the depth and characteristic sheen of the damask.

The butterflies are distributed freely across a continuous-pattern fabric. Each runner is cut from a different section of the textile, so the position and sequence of the motifs will never be exactly the same.

The cream and natural linen tones make this runner exceptionally versatile. It can be placed directly on a wood, stone or glass tabletop or layered over a solid-color tablecloth.
On antique or natural wood, it creates a warm, understated and textural setting. Over a white or ivory tablecloth, it produces a lighter composition; paired with taupe, gray, sage green or lavender linen, the butterfly motif emerges through a soft and sophisticated contrast.
The runner works beautifully with white ceramics, terracotta, crystal glassware and antique silver, but it is equally suited to a simple everyday table. On a large table, two runners can be arranged parallel to one another or placed across the width to define individual place settings.

How should I wash the linen runner?
Machine wash at 104°F/40°C using a mild detergent. We recommend steam ironing while the linen is still slightly damp to enhance the characteristic sheen of the damask.
