In both images, Cleome is photographed outdoors in gardens of southern France — manor courtyards, limestone houses, clipped box hedges, climbing roses. It is the context the design seems to have chosen for itself: the aesthetic of cultivated French countryside, with its ability to hold together the ancient and the living, the rigour of the formal garden and the freedom of wildflowers. Silver candlesticks, blown crystal, a terracotta jug with fresh flowers — everything is consistent with the register of the design.

In an interior with white or pale grey walls, its dark borders — the near-black green of the foliage, the mauve of the thistles — have the force of a graphic element. Why do you say every tablecloth is slightly different? The Cleome design is a continuous motif — it is not built on a fixed module that repeats identically. This means the cut point along the length of the fabric determines which flowers, leaves, and buds appear in which position. Two tablecloths of the same dimensions, cut at different points on the roll, will have a slightly different composition. This is a characteristic of the design, not a production variable: it makes every piece genuinely unique.
Does the print fade with washing? Digital print on linen is designed to withstand repeated machine washes at 40°C (104°F). Over time the colour acquires a subtle patina consistent with the aesthetic of the design. Do not bleach.
Is Cleome available in round format? No. The vertical side border structure of the design is conceived for rectangular formats. For a round table with a botanical print, we recommend Pansée Allover, available as a round linen tablecloth up to 170 cm (67″) in diameter.
