The Hydrangea runner is cut from the same fabric as the Hydrangea tablecloth: the same botanical watercolour design, the same hydrangeas in dusty pink, mauve, cream white, and dark green, the same natural linen ground. But in the runner format, the relationship between design and support changes completely: the narrow, long cut reveals the design as a close-up snapshot of the botanical garden, with flowers occupying almost the entire surface and natural linen emerging faintly as breath between the petals.
Because the design is continuous — not modular, not fixed-repeat — every runner is cut at a different point in the fabric and presents its own composition. Why is every runner different from the next? The Hydrangea fabric has a continuous design with no fixed repeat. Every runner is cut at a different point in the fabric, resulting in its own unique composition: the buyer cannot know in advance exactly which flowers and leaves will be in the foreground of their specific piece. It is this controlled unpredictability that makes every runner genuinely one of a kind.
Can I order a runner identical to one I already have? No — and this is part of the value of the product. Given the continuous nature of the design, it is not possible to reproduce exactly the same composition. Those who want to use several runners on the same table will receive coordinated but different pieces, much like a bouquet of fresh flowers where no two stems are exactly the same.
Does the print fade with washing? Digital print on linen is designed to withstand repeated machine washes at 40°C (104°F). Over time the colour acquires a subtle patina consistent with the watercolour aesthetic. Do not bleach.
