What is bastoncino hemstitch? It is a traditional openwork technique of fine Italian household linen: the horizontal threads of the fabric are drawn out by hand along a line parallel to the hem, and the remaining vertical threads are gathered into small regular bundles — the “bastoncini”, little sticks — by the stitching. The result is the characteristic pierced line that frames the tablecloth. In our Bastoncino, the thread-drawing is entirely manual; the stitching is executed by machine on this handmade preparation.
Why does delivery take 4 weeks even for standard sizes? Because every tablecloth is made at the time of order — we do not keep finished tablecloths in stock.
