La Bottega di Casa has its Italian atelier in Follina, in the province of Treviso, surrounded by the Prosecco Hills of Veneto.
Our story is also closely connected to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where La Bottega di Casa has been part of the local design and artisan community for decades.
Are La Bottega di Casa linens made in Italy?
Many La Bottega di Casa collections are cut, sewn and finished in our atelier in Follina, Italy. We also work with selected Italian weaving mills and artisan textile makers whose fabrics and expertise are part of Italy’s long textile tradition.
Production may vary according to the collection, so each product page specifies the fabric composition, origin and finishing details of the individual piece.
What makes La Bottega di Casa table linens different?
Our collections combine natural fabrics, Italian textile craftsmanship and distinctive design.
We work primarily with linen, alongside selected cottons, jacquards and linen blends. Many pieces are made in small quantities or prepared individually, and many of our tablecloths can be made to measure.

Can I order a custom-size linen tablecloth?
Yes. Many La Bottega di Casa tablecloths can be made to your measurements in Italy.
Send us the length and width of your table — or its diameter if it is round — together with the drop you would like. We can help determine the most appropriate finished dimensions.
The maximum dimensions depend on the width of the fabric, the design and the shape of the tablecloth.

How do I measure my table for a custom tablecloth?
For a rectangular or square table, measure the length and width of the tabletop and add the desired drop twice to each measurement.
Table length + twice the desired drop = tablecloth length
Table width + twice the desired drop = tablecloth width
For a round table:
Table diameter + twice the desired drop = tablecloth diameter
If you are unsure about the proportions, send us your table measurements and we can help you choose the right finished size.
What is the ideal tablecloth drop?
There is no single ideal drop. It depends on the table, the chairs and the look you want to create.
A drop of approximately 8–12 inches generally creates an elegant but relaxed setting for everyday dining. A longer drop can create a more formal or dramatic effect.
For a custom tablecloth, we recommend considering not only the dimensions of the tabletop but also the height and proportions of the table and chairs.
What are the best tablecloths for oversized or unusually shaped tables?
For an oversized or non-standard table, a custom-made tablecloth is usually the best solution because its proportions can be adapted to the actual tabletop rather than relying on a standard size.
Many La Bottega di Casa fabrics can be made into extra-long tablecloths. Maximum width depends on the width of the selected fabric, while length is often more flexible.
For very large or unusual tables, contact us with your measurements before ordering and we can recommend the most suitable fabrics and dimensions.
Can you make round custom tablecloths?
Yes, with many of our fabrics.
Plain linens, classic designs and some all-over patterns can be suitable for round tablecloths. However, prints with placed motifs, borders or compositions designed for rectangular tables may not be adaptable to a round shape.

How long does a custom tablecloth take to make?
Most La Bottega di Casa custom tablecloths are normally prepared in approximately 2–3 weeks after the measurements and order have been confirmed.
Timing may vary according to the fabric, finish, complexity of the piece and time of year.

Can I use a table runner over a tablecloth?
Absolutely. Layering a runner over a solid-color linen tablecloth is an elegant way to introduce pattern, color and texture.

Yes. Customers in the United States can order La Bottega di Casa table linens directly from our international online store.
Online orders for the U.S. are shipped from Follina, Italy, allowing American customers to purchase our Italian linen collections, including many made-to-measure pieces.

How should I wash a linen tablecloth?
Always follow the care instructions on the individual product page or label, as recommendations can vary according to the fabric, color, print and finish.
Many of our colored linen tablecloths can be washed at approximately 40°C / 104°F. Treat stains promptly and avoid allowing them to dry deeply into the fibers.
Does linen shrink when washed?
As a natural fiber, linen can experience some shrinkage, particularly during the first washes.
Our fabrics are treated to help control shrinkage, but a small dimensional variation can still be normal. Always follow the washing instructions for the individual product.
Should linen tablecloths be tumble-dried?
We generally recommend air drying fine linen tablecloths whenever possible.
Repeated high-temperature tumble drying can place unnecessary stress on natural fibers and may affect colors over time.
Does a linen tablecloth need to be ironed?
Not necessarily.
For a crisp, traditional appearance, linen is easier to iron while still slightly damp, using steam and the temperature recommended on the care label.
Washed or relaxed linen can also be used with its natural creases for a softer, more informal look.
