Bed Sheets Set Stone Washed Linen Barolo
A sheet set in pure stonewashed linen, woven by Camillatex in Northern Italy and sewn in our own atelier in Follina, in the Prosecco Hills.
The linen is pre-washed: soft from the very first night, with minimal shrinkage in the wash. Six colors — Barolo, Frosty Green, Old Rose, Panna, Sand and Sunset — in the main US and Italian sizes.
Every set includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet with elastic at all four corners, and one or two envelope pillowcases. Made to measure and extra pillowcases on request, normally delivered within 15 days.

A bed you can leave unmade
Linen doesn’t ask to look perfect. A bed made up in stonewashed linen is recognizable by the way it falls: no mirror-flat creases, no sheen, just a lived-in texture that catches the light differently through the day. It’s bedding for a room that is looked after but not stiff.
The fabric and the workmanship
These are pure Italian linen sheets: 100% linen woven by Camillatex, an Italian mill working since 1962 and specialized in pure linen and pure cotton for the home. The stonewashing washes and softens the fiber before the set is sewn, so it arrives soft, with none of the breaking-in period raw linen asks for — and with minimal shrinkage after the first wash.
Creases, slight irregularities in the weave and gentle variations in shade belong to washed linen: they are what makes each set feel textured and real. Linen lets air move and absorbs moisture well, so it stays cool on warm nights and works year-round, under blankets, bedcovers or a duvet cover as the season requires.
Cutting and sewing happen in our atelier in Follina, with attention to the proportions of the flat sheet, to how the elastic holds at all four corners, and to the finish of the envelope pillowcases.
The six colors
Linen bed sheets in six colors, all solid rather than printed: the color works with the texture instead of sitting on top of it.
- Barolo: a deep wine red, between bordeaux and garnet.
- Frosty Green: a pale, dusty sage softened by grey undertones.
- Old Rose: a muted antique pink, close to clay and pale terracotta.
- Panna: a warm, luminous ivory — softer than optical white.
- Sand: a natural, quiet beige drawn from sand and pale stone.
- Sunset: a warm, deep orange between terracotta, pumpkin and evening light.

How to style it
The simplest approach is tonal: sheets and pillowcases in one color, so the bed reads as a single surface. To break it up, we can make the set with pillowcases in a different color from the sheets — just tell us when you order.
The flat sheet alone in summer; a blanket, a bedcover or a linen duvet cover over the set in winter. Panna and Sand carry anything you add; Barolo, Sunset, Old Rose and Frosty Green look best on their own or with one other color in the room.

Size names vary between countries and manufacturers — an Italian Queen and a US Queen are not the same bed. Always compare the width, length and depth of your mattress against the inches in the table rather than the size name alone, paying particular attention to the pocket depth if you use a topper.

Made to measure, lead times and shipping
If none of the standard sizes matches your mattress, we make custom size linen sheets, subject to a feasibility check. We can adjust the flat sheet, the fitted sheet and the pillowcases, or add extra pillowcases. We need the width, length and depth of your mattress, topper included.
Sets held in stock arrive within a week. Made to measure linen sheets are quoted for lead time when you order, based on the sizes requested and the workload of the atelier; delivery normally takes no more than 15 days.
Pre-washed linen sheets are easier to live with. Machine wash at 105°F (40°C), separating light colors from dark ones, with a mild detergent. No bleach and no harsh products: they alter the color and weaken the fiber. Because the linen is pre-washed, shrinkage is minimal and the measurements in the table hold up over time.
Air drying preserves linen; we don’t recommend the tumble dryer, which is harder on both fibers and colors. Stonewashed linen can be used without ironing, with its natural creases left visible; for a smoother look, steam iron while the fabric is still slightly damp. Always follow the care label as well.
Cleaning instructions
La Bottega di Casa began in Follina, in the Prosecco Hills north of Venice. In our own atelier we select natural fabrics and make table and bed linen, with attention to proportion, to how the fitted sheet sits on the mattress, and to the finishing.
We choose Italian mills one by one: the linen in these sets comes from Camillatex, just as our table linen comes from Tessitura Pardi in Umbria. Since the early 2000s we’ve also had a shop in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and we ship worldwide.
What are these sheets made of, and who weaves the linen?

Do linen sheets shrink after washing?
Shrinkage is minimal, because the linen is pre-washed before the set is sewn: the stonewashing does the shrinking at the mill rather than in your machine. The measurements in the table are what you’ll have on the bed after the first washes.

How do I choose the right fitted sheet size?
Measure the width, length and depth of your mattress, topper included, and compare all three against the table. The pocket depth is 12″ (30 cm) on the Italian single sizes and 16″ (40 cm) on the others. Queen and King are not the same everywhere, so compare inches rather than names.
How long does a made-to-measure set take?
