The Magnolia placemats bring the winter garden of the tablecloth to the individual format: large white magnolias, pine branches and green berries in watercolour, on pale linen ground. With one important difference that tells the care behind the project: these are placed designs — compositions purposely created for the 19″ x 16″ format, not simply cut from the tablecloth fabric. Each placemat is a complete botanical picture, designed to live on its own under the plate.
The set includes four placemats with four different compositions: one richer in berries, one where pine dominates, one with clustered magnolias, one more open and airy. Sisters, not twins — on the table, the effect is a single winter story that changes framing at every seat.
As with all natural linen products, small fibre irregularities may be visible — slubs, weave variations, slight differences in thread thickness. These are not flaws: they are the signature of natural fabric, and part of what gives the cloth its character.
